To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…

• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading:

Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
I read through Catching Fire in 3-4 days and have now started the final book in The Hunger Games trilogy and loving every minute! I'll be sorry when it's done.

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
I decided it was time to read this!

Recently Finished

Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH by Robert O'Brien
I read this for my 1971 choice for The Century Challenge and really enjoyed it! I was impressed by Mrs. Frisby's determination to take care of her children no matter what the cost, which is what motherhood is all about!

The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls
I read this for the Memorable Memoirs challenge. It has been on my TBR list for a long time and I am so glad I finally took the time to read it! It's a memoir written by journalist Jeannette Walls detailing her childhood growing up with an alcoholic father and their nomadic lifestyle.

Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
I had this on hold at the library and got it on Thursday evening. I had to finish Mrs. Frisby first so I didn't start it until Friday night and finished it last night. I could not put it down! Luckily I had put my name in for Mockingjay and I got that book on Saturday and started it today!

Teaser Tuesdays

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My teaser this week is from The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle:

"Sherlock Holmes was transformed when he was hot upon such a scent as this. Men who had only known the quiet thinker and logican of Baker Street would have failed to recognize him.", page 95.

Currently Reading:

Secrets of Eden by Chris Bohjalian

I just started listening to this on the way to work this morning but I have enjoyed his other books.

Recently Finished:

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

I literally just finished this one before sitting down at the computer. I had been thinking about reading it and it came highly recommended from a coworker. It's another dystopian society story set in the future. I really, really liked it and can't wait to read the other two books.

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

I'm so glad that I finished the whole thing this time around and don't want to give anything away but was disappointed with the ending. Overall, I really enjoyed it though.

Every Last One by Anna Quindlen

A really good book about a family who seems to have normal problems until something horrific happens. This event was hinted at in the description and I thought I had it figured out what it was going to be but it was so much more than I could have ever imagined. Another great one by thei author!

Coming Up:

The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Will be starting this one tonight
