Currently Reading:

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
I'm reading this for the Back to the Classics challenge and am about halfway through. I am really enjoying it and will definitely finish it this time!

Every Last One by Anna Quindlen
I'm reading this for my "E" choice for the A-Z Challenge. I've enjoyed her books and this no exception.

Recently finished Reading:

Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother by Amy Chua
So many thoughts about this one, good and bad!! I read it in just under two days-I couldn't put it down. I'm still mulling it over a week later and am thinking of writing a post of my thoughts because there are so many.

While I'm Falling by Laura Moriarty
I read this as my "movement" choice for the What's in a Name 4 Challenge and it took me a little bit to get into it. It's the story of a young woman who is in college when her mother cheats on her dad and they end up divorced, turning the family dynamics all upside-down and sideways. Very good.

Coming Up Next:

The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Secrets of Eden by Chris Bohjalian

Currently Reading:

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
I'd forgotten how delightful this book is and I am really excited to continue reading it!

While I'm Falling by Laura Moriarty
For the What's in A Name 4 Challenge, my "Movement" choice. It's the story a young woman who's parents divorce and the changes it creates in the family dynamics.

The Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother by Amy Chua
I had heard so much controversy about this book when it came out and put it on-hold at the library; my name came up quicker than I expected! I'm only about 40 pages in and so enthralled; I may need to write a post about it because I already have so many thoughts!

Recently finished:

Shiloh Season by Irene Reynolds Naylor
My son just finished this in school and wanted me to read it. It was so good I couldn't put it down and read it over the weekend!

*I apologize for the weird colors and spacing. For some reason it conitued green and then I couldn't get it all to go to black!*

Currently Reading:

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott (for Back to the Classics Challenge)

I've lost track of how many times I've started and stopped reading this book over the years. I'm finishing it this time...I'm only about 100 pages in and enjoying it so much

While I'm Falling by Laura Moriarty (for the What's in a Name 4)

I'm only one CD in but it's the story of a college girl who'd parents get divorces and the crazy dynamics-I'm all about reading about family dysfunction-lol

Recently finished:

Journey to the Center of the Earth by Jules Verne

I finally finished this one and enjoyed it so much more than 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison (for the Century Challenge)

I think I was supposed to read this in college but never did. I'm sorry I didn't because I really liked it. It was the story of a little African-American girl who's only wish is to have blue eyes so everyone will think she's pretty. But it's so much more....

The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver (for 1001 books you Must read challenge)

I really enjoyed this one-it had been on my TBR list for a long time!

Rip Van Winkle and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (for the Celebrate the Author challenge)

I listened to these on CD; combined they were 3 hours long (which is 2 days worth of my weekly commute). I really enjoyed them both, liking Rip a little more!

Coming Up:

Shiloh Season

Tucker just finished this in school and was so excited for me to read it!

I didn't get a chance to post this last week so this is what I've been up to for the past two weeks...

Currently Reading...
Journey to the Center of the Earth by Jules Verne
Almost done with this one and I have really enjoyed it!

The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver
This is the story of a family who goes on a mission to the Congo in 1960 to spread the word of Jesus. the family consists of a preacher, his wife and their four daughters and is told through the point of view of the mother and her daughters. Very interesting and I am now almost done with it.

The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison
I think this may have been one of those books on some reading list in college that I never read. I am only on the first few pages.

Recently Finished...
Freedom by Jonathan Frazen
Though this one took me a long time to get through, I really enjoyed it! It's about that perfect family who seems to have it all and then it all falls apart. It's told from each of the family member's perspective which made it pretty interesting!

Little Bee by Chris Cleave
For a book I picked up because I liked the cover, this one really surprised me! It was about two women who meet one day under extraordinary circumstances and then picks up when they meet again 2 years later. I was speechless when I finished it...really good!

Shiloh
I kept leaving Journey to the Center of the Earth either at home or at work so I started reading this one and really liked. I'm hoping to get to the library to get the next two.

Coming Up...
Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving
Rip Van Winkle by Washington Irving
I will be reading/listening to both of these for the Celebrate the Author challenge for April.

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
I have started and never finished this book many times and will be reading it this time for the Back to the Classics Challenge.
